Wonderful ManReally sad to hear the news of the passing of one of our closest friends. Henri has been a great partner to the Scotts business for many years, and his charm and passion for the industry will be sorely missed. A true pioneer that revolutionised the fashion industry and created many cultures – he was an important part of many peoples life through his incredible product he brought us. The legacy he leaves behind will be in good hands and the brand will live on with Henri looking down with pride, and I am sure, having a little sing too.
One of the great PolesAs the Consul General for the Republic of Poland, on behalf of my wife and of all of my employees at the Polish Consulate in Manchester, I would like to extend our deepest condolences for the death of Henryk Strzelecki.
Perfection through innovationRIP Mr Henri.
Humour and GenerosityPaul and Martin. I was very sad to hear of Henri's recent passing. Henri was an important part of my early working life in Manchester I agree with all the comments attached. he was a man of character and his character had wit charm humour and generosity. at our first meeting he asked me how many children I had. when I came to leave to return to my office he handed me two bags one for each of my children they were delighted with the bags and used them for many years but it was an act typical of henri's interest and generosity. Henri was a great speaker not only conversationally but also more formally a talent he used to great effect when we last met at the company's celebration at the Lowry Hotel.my best wishes at this sad time to your families and to all at Henri Lloyd.
A pioneer of his time and a true legend lost but never forgotten. My thoughts are with Mr Henri’s family and friends.
As an ex employee of Henri Lloyd during the 1980's (Export Sales Representative) Mr Henri taught me a lot and on numerous Overseas trips manning exhibition stands we worked hard together serving customers and after a hard day on the stand we would have a few beers together in the evening. He was a lovely kind person who will be sadly missed by many people and I would like to offer my condolences to both Paul & Martin and all his family at this very sad time
InspirationalThere have been only a few people in my life who I can truly say have been inspirational; Popa Henri is definitely one of them - I was extremely fortunate to meet him and listen to his stories and experiences when I was younger. It's difficult to articulate how this has impacted my life, but his entrepreneurial spirit and global outlook have inspired me to be far more open about what the world has to offer and how much I can achieve.
RIPWe called Him "Uncle Henri".
London Boat Show and the trade shows will not be the same now that Mr Henri has gone. A man who inspired, a man who was admired.
I met mr strzelecki once at a Henri Lloyd sale which we get tickets for, he was speaking to my wife and myself. A true gent, a real people's person. Rip. x
Sadly MissedMr Henri will be sadly missed by us all.
Sir henryk StrzeleckiDla mnie taka postać właśnie kimś takim była. Polskim inspiratorem nietylko mody ale stylu życia, który nierozerwalnie łączy się z żeglarstwem.
An HonourWhat an honour to work for a company founded by such an extraordinary man.
Touched the lives of manyI just wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear about the death of Mr Henri. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, may you find peace and comfort in knowing that Mr Henri touched the lives of many and was a true inspiration to us at the Conservative Friends of Poland. I now join with so many others who knew him in offering our deepest sympathy.
A pioneer and wonderful manA pioneer and wonderful man - a privilege to have known him.

I went to school with Paul when we were very little.(St.Annes prep).
Dziękuję Panie Henryku za stworzenie światowej marki.
RIP Henri. An old family friend and a wonderful and colorful gentleman. From the tennis courts to my children dubbing him 'the candy man' to much later when my daughter was able to converse with him in Polish. A lifetime of proud achievements, generosities and kindnesses.
He was a lovely man and I am pleased to have met him on several occasions, when he visited his son Paul who lived next door to us.
A generous manworked for Mr Henri during the years of 1985 - 1989. I have many fond memories of him. He was a remarkable man. Kind, generous and always a gentleman. Always took the time to come round and chat to his workers.
A truly great manA truly great Man who inspired us all.
A true, true dear and loving friendHenri, I always thought, hoped and prayed you would go on for ever. You were such a major part of my life, a true, true, dear and loving friend who I will miss so very much.
Our thoughts are with you, Paul and Martin, and the whole family. It was such a shock to read the news in the Telegraph this morning as it only seems like yesterday that Henri was singing his heart out in Bowdon CC! He certainly made an impression on our daughter in law. I had the pleasure of working for Henri in Hong Kong and Bangkok, and we had some very memorable visits from him in both cities. We knew him here in England, and when ever we met up he never seemed to change. He was a lovely man, with a huge heart, and so generously kind to all he met. We both know that he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, whether it was just socially or in the work place. And most of all by his family.
A resourceful opponentHenri was a popular member of The Tennis Club, Hale Barns for many years. He was a resourceful opponent and a supportive partner. His wry sense of humour and friendly manner endeared him to all.
InspirationI was saddened to see the news of Henri's passing. He was a great man and established a superb company with Henri Lloyd. We all have very happy memories of Henri and the family at the Earls Court Boat Show. We had trade stands near to each other. We also shared hotel accommodation in a Polish hotel in Earls Court called The Terstan. There are very happy memories of Henri and the inspiration that he was to some very young Rayner brothers.
One life's true gentlemen. It was an honour to have known you and worked for you. Condolences to your family. R.I.P. Mr Henri.
The most charismatic man I have ever met, it was an honour to have worked in a business that was founded by such a visionary, who was able to cast that special bit of magic on anyone he met. God bless you Mr Henri and my thoughts are with the family.
Wieczne odpoczywanie p. Henri! On behalf of the Governors, Teachers, Parents and Pupils of the Polish Saturday School in Manchester, I would like to express our sincere and deepest condolences to the family of Henri Strzelecki.
Honoured to have known HenriI feel honoured to have known Henri, he was the most warm, kind hearted, generous and intelligent person one could ever have had the pleasure to meet.
I am priviledged to have known Henri, a true gentleman and an inspiration.
Kind and GenerousSo sad to hear the news. Mr Henri always made sure press photographers were well kitted out to cover sports events like MUFC & MCFC games in lousy weather. He was a very kind and generous man. Gone but certainly not forgotten.
Panie Henryku !
I first encountered Henri whilst on holiday in the Med when he strolled over to me and asked if I would have a game of tennis with him. I was with my wife at the time and explained I did not have a racquet. That was not a good enough excuse and he quickly produced one from his hotel room and proceeded to beat me, I seem to recall, 2 sets to 1. An enjoyable dinner with Henri and Sheila started a long friendship and I was honoured when he recently stayed for my 60th birthday over here in Saddleworth. He was a great character and when I divorced I was so grateful for his wisdom and took on board his advice to see my 3 sons were sheltered from the fallout. My heart goes out to Paul & Martin and Diane and all his Grandchildren. Keep that spare racquet ready Henri!
rest in peace Mr Henri.
I'm a real fan of HL goods and thank for all You've made Mr Henri. My thoughts are with Mr Henri's family, so please accept my deepest sympathy.
Rest in peace Dear Henri. You are a great man.
A Sharp MindA old friend, we went back a long way. He had the qualities of a great man. Kind and compassionate, with a sharp mind and a good work ethic. The company he built is a testament to his hard work and his determination.
Funny and charmingWas so very sad to hear of Henri's passing on Boxing Day. I worked at The Post House Hotel in Southampton for many years, and he greeted me like an old friend every Boat Show. He was a lovely man, funny and charming, and I am honoured to have known him in a small way.
My condolences to the Strzelecki family – Henio will be sorely missed at our Manchester Ex-Combatants meetings where his good nature was infectious, we’ll miss him bursting into song and I’ll miss the gentleman with a twinkle in his eye and a genius at networking.
A great Man with beautiful ideasIf tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane,
Always Cherished. We will always cherish the fond memories of a wonderful, kind-hearted gentleman.
Irresistible CharmDear Mr Henri always offered up a hug and an amusing story or two when we met, usually at Boat Shows or during my years working at Cowes Week. Although we hadn't seen each other for a couple of years, his infectious sense of humour and irresistible charm will always remain with me. My heartfelt condolences to the family, his friends and colleagues.
Vision and HonorVision and Honor are powerful words. In our times unfortunately nearly forgotten. Remembering of Henry F. Strzelecki will never allow us to doubt, that those words are still exist. Rest in Peace, Mr. Henri.
Mr Henri's love of people and respectfulness has been something that has stayed with me since I first met him. I have been honoured to work for him and the company.
Always encouraged meAll at Ocean World will really miss Henri. He taught me a huge amount and always encouraged me in building my own business. Always enjoyed the big night out at the Polish Club during London Boat Show. Our thoughts are with the family.

Sadly missedMr Henri will be sadly missed by us all.
He was wonderfulA true gentleman who always had time for a laugh, a smile and a few words when you met him. I met him at a boat show one year and we got on the same train going back into London - I thought he was wonderful and he kept me entertained throughout the journey. I promised I'd bring him a bottle of Somerset cider back on my return (which I did) and leave it for him on the Henri Lloyd stand. I really hope he found it!
A great manOur thoughts are with Paul & Martin and all the family at this sad time. Mr Henri was a great man, an innovator in the marine world and the life of the party – he will be missed.
A great patriotGoodbye Dear Friend, a great Patriot, a brave Soldier, the wise Entrepreneur with unique personality and a big heart.
Very sad news!! Such a lovely man. My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.
A True Visionary and a GentlemanMr Henri was one of the first people to believe in me and Maiden. Henri Lloyd was our first sponsor. He was generous of spirit, kind, funny, charismatic, thoughful and an inspiration to those of us who strive. They do not make them like this anymore sadly. His story was legendary and he will be missed so very much by us all. His extraordinary achievements live on in Paul and Martin and in the Henri Lloyd name. Our thoughts are with them.
Wieczny Odpoczynek - Rest in Peace
A great inspirationI had the privilege of meeting Mr Henri in his office visits between my time of 2001 to 2003 at HL. I will always remember his warmth, friendliness, smile and great sense of humour. A true inspiration in the Clothing industry.
A true gentlemanIn one way or another, Henri Lloyd have been as much a part of my life as sailing itself – from a 10 year old boy sailing with my dad, I have only ever worn HL wet weather gear when sailing, wherever I have sailed n the world. It was an honour to get to know Henri and his wonderful family as I got older, and in later life, to call them friends. He will be missed greatly. Who else will serenade my wife and then produce a gift of a tangerine from his inside jacket pocket? Always immaculately dressed. A true gentleman.
Good memoriesFrom the days of Toddbrook through being involved in many years of pro sailing, disabled sailing, Olympics and Ocean projects, Mr. Henri’s name always cropped up where good things were going on. He has left a massive footprint, and I hope his good works will be carried on through his company. Wishing all his family heartfelt good memories and sympathies.
Charm and enthusiasmSad news. I only met him once, but his charm and enthusiasm for his company were obvious. His legacy will be enjoyed by Henri Lloyd customers all over the world.

Hard to believeIt's so hard to believe that a character as big as Henri is no longer here. Henri achieved so much but most of all was loving, caring, welcoming and wonderfully eccentric at times! Thank you Henri for letting us share your love of life, things will be a little less fun without you around. Love and best wishes to Paul & Martin.
Amazing ManAn amazing man, always full of life and fun who never ceased to raise a smile when he walked into a room. A great loss and will be sadly missed. God bless.

Mr Henri we salute youI don't know of anyone who would light up a room nearly as much as Mr Henri. His infectious smile was always followed by a witty comment; usually as sharp as his dress sense! He was a true pioneer who lived life in all of its fullness. Mr Henri we salute you, for not only being a man of vision but for one whose passion for life will continue to inspire us all.
