The Green Blue, the joint environment programme from the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association, has been working with yachtsmen, marine businesses and sailing clubs to make boating as sustainable as possible since 2005.
The programme offers free practical advice, help and even money saving tips for anyone who wishes to make sure that our coasts and inland waters stay in good shape for present and future generations. And in fact, sailing is the only sport to have its very own environment programme.
Since the launch of the infinite loop Blue Eco jacket and hi-fit garments to the Henri Lloyd marine range, we’ve been looking at other ways to improve our environmental performance and with this in mind, we announced our formal partnership with The Green Blue in 2009.
Thanks to The Green Blue, we have been able to reduce our energy consumption and increase our recycling rates. And in June 2010 we unveiled our Environmental Policy, outlining our continued commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, and raising the awareness of environmental issues among our employees, business partners and customers.
